About Tam O’Shanter 8.00pm

This is a reprise of Bruce’s hilarious, five star sell-out show from 2006. Bruce gives the background history and inspiration behind Tam, Soutar Johnny and the witches from Robert Burns, Scotland’s best loved poet. This show is a laugh laden romp, topped off with a stunning rendition of Burns’s greatest narrative poem.

'Simply and purely hilarious. His research is deep, his timing split second perfect and his ad-lib ability amazing. Hecklers and know-it-alls are sorted with straight wit’ (Daily Record).

‘Had Rabbie himself had one hour of life to be part of the audience, I am sure he would have enjoyed such a powerful performance.’ (One4review.com).

‘Engages throughout ... delivers a winning, bravura recital’ (List).

Tam O Shanter

My Afro Celtic Angst 9.30pm
Steeped in Scottish history and culture but with African genes, Bruce is the finest comedian on the Afro Celtic comedy circuit. Growing up in the 70s seemed very different from life today. Bruce looks back on growing up a Scottish African, as a mischievous schoolboy, a playful physics teacher and having taken his own very Scottish children to Ghana for the first time. What does the future hold for an unprepared father and his Afro Celtic angst? You’ve got to laugh.

‘Has a sharp stand-up brain’ (Chortle.co.uk),

‘Easy delivery and original material’ (Edinburgh Evening News).

As part of the Free Festival this show is free entry with a contribution at the end of the show.  Worth every penny!
